Background - The "Georgian" (St Louis-Atlanta) and "Humming Bird" (Cincinnati-New Orleans) began as all coach streamliners in 1946. Coaches #s3200-3215, Coach-Lounge Cars #3100-3103, Tavern-Lounge Cars 3000-3003, and Dining Cars 2796-2799 were in the available pool. All these cars were built by ACF.

Tavern-Lounge Cars were named "Churchill Downs" (renamed "Boston Club," 1952), "Carnival Club," "Belle Meade" and "Aristocrat" (renamed "Cincinnati Club," 1952).

Dining Cars were named "Fiesta Inn," "Bouquet Inn" (renamed "Azalea Trail," 1951), "Dixiana Inn," and "Duncan Hines." (Hines was a good ol' Kentucky boy from Bowling Green). His namesake dining car was #2799.

Car Numbers - Several cars were renamed 1951-1952. According to Louisville & Nashville Passenger Trains by Castner Chapman & Dorin, the names and numbers match up as follows:

Churchill Downs- 3000 (renamed Boston Club 1952)
Boston Club- 3000 (renamed from Churchill Downs 1952)
Carnival Club- 3001
Belle Meade- 3002 (renamed University Club 1952)
University Club- 3002 (renamed from Belle Meade 1952)
Aristocrat- 3003 (renamed Cincinnati Club 1952)
Fiesta Inn- 2796
Bouquet Inn- 2797
Azalea Trail- 2797 (renamed 12-1951)
Dixiana Inn- 2798
Duncan Hines- 2799
Cincinnati Club- 3003 (renamed from Aristocrat 1952)

The car numbers are distributed as follows:
3101, 3102- coach-lounges
3200 3203 3206 3214- coaches
